We are excited to launch Move for Mobility 2025, our Invacare annual global fundraiser that gives us as employees around the world an opportunity to get involved, raise awareness and funds for people in developing countries who are denied the right to a wheelchair.
At Invacare, we believe everyone deserves the freedom to move - promoting independence, dignity, and a full life. That’s why we invite you to join Move for Mobility this May!
This initiative is in partnership with Free Wheelchair Mission - a humanitarian non-profit organization. For every $96 raised, a wheelchair is gifted to those in need.
In 2024, thanks to your incredible support, we raised $28,442 during our first Move for Mobility fundraiser. This provided 296 wheelchairs to remote communities! This year, we aim to surpass that achievement and bring the gift of mobility to even more people.

FAQs
Who is Free Wheelchair Mission?
Based in California, USA, Free Wheelchair Mission are an international non-profit, humanitarian organization manufacturing wheelchairs for people with disabilities within communities in developing countries around the world. These remote communities have no access to mobility equipment and have no means to pay for wheelchairs. In collaboration with a network of charitable partners, Free Wheelchair Mission has distributed more than 1.4 million wheelchairs to people in 95 developing countries at no cost to the recipient. They fund the manufacture of their wheelchairs through donations only.
How do we support them?
For over 6 years, Invacare has shared their technical skills and expertise to help with the research, design and production of Free Wheelchair Mission’s cost-effective wheelchairs. The partnership is creative and resourceful in its mission to bring mobility for all. Both Invacare and Free Wheelchair Mission are passionate in their belief that every wheelchair brings them closer to a world where life’s experiences are possible for everyone.
Free Wheelchair Mission say they are “faith-based” – what does this mean?
When Free Wheelchair Mission describes themselves as faith-based, it means that their work is inspired by faith, however, this does not mean that they exclusively serve individuals who share the same faith. The organization is dedicated to serving people of all backgrounds and their assistance is rooted in kindness, compassion, and dignity. The organization often collaborates with secular organizations, such as Invacare, in their mission to provide humanitarian aid.
Does it cost anything to register?
No! It is free to sign up for Move for Mobility. Our hope is that you will be inspired to fundraise to help communities receive new wheelchairs. Every $96 raised will change someone’s life forever!
I work from home, can I still get involved?
Absolutely! Move for Mobility is flexible—you can take part from anywhere. Run in your backyard, on a treadmill, or at an official race. Walk around your neighborhood, hike a local trail, or bike outdoors or on a stationary bike. You can even swim, do jumping jacks, or choose any activity you enjoy.
